RFQ: Community Organizing Training

About the Role

We are seeking experienced trainers or training teams to design and deliver a Community Organizing Training that strengthens community leadership in Battle Creek. The training should be participatory, culturally grounded, and rooted in relationship-building and equity.

Trainers may choose to deliver the training as:
- A multi-day intensive (2–3 full days), or
- A series of shorter workshops (e.g., several 3-hour sessions)
- Final format will be decided in collaboration with BCTRHT.

Training Topics May Include:
- Community organizing and campaign planning
- Storytelling and communications strategies
- Leadership development and volunteer engagement
- Power mapping, voter mobilization, and direct action
- Digital organizing and peer-to-peer fundraising

Trainers are encouraged to suggest creative workshop content tailored to Battle Creek’s context.

Requirements

Requirements:

We are looking for individuals or teams with:

  • Proven experience in grassroots community organizing and facilitation

  • Cultural humility and experience working with BIPOC communities

  • Strong participatory and equity-centered training methods

  • Ability to serve both beginner and intermediate learners

  • Commitment to inclusive, healing-centered learning environments


Deliverables:

  • Custom-designed training agenda and curriculum

  • Facilitation of selected training sessions

  • Practical tools/resources for participants

  • Brief summary or feedback report post-training


Compensation:

There is no pre-set budget. Trainers are invited to submit a quote that includes:

  • Facilitation fees

  • Curriculum development and prep time

  • Materials (print or digital)

  • Travel expenses (if applicable)

We value your labor and will use the submitted quotes to determine fair compensation.

  • Cover letter describing your interest, experience, and values alignment

  • Your proposed training format and a sample agenda

  • Detailed cost estimate

  • At least two references from similar work
